Would you have dated your SO in high school?

The short answer: Heck NO.

Hubby and I were talking about high school last night, and we both agreed that if we had met back then, there's NO WAY we would have dated. Honestly, if we had lived in the same town and had gone to the same high school, I know I would have avoided him. He would have thought I was a goody two-shoes. He went to an alternative high school. The alternative school focused more on experiential learning rather than learning in more traditional ways.

While hubs rebelled in his own way, I was definitely on the straight and narrow. I loved school. I liked the predictability of it and I loved the classes I took and experiences I had. Going to college / uni was expected in my family. (It was definately when not if)

When I first met my hubby I thought he was the most obnoxious SOB I had ever met. 3 years later we started dating and are now coming up on our 12 year anniversity.

But if I had met him at 15 or 17, there's no way we would be together now.

What about you???

Nope...not interested in boys, and he wouldn't have dated me as I was fat, shortsighted, spoke "posh" and from a very different social world.

And he's younger than my little brother.

No, he's two years younger than me so it would have been a non-starter from the off.

Plus, he probably would have been one of my brother's friends. **shudder**

She would have had to be a 'he' (all boys school).

Then again, with some Aussie birds, you just don't know ... :D

I thought about dating my fellow pupils but didn't like the communial showers after rugby so I took that as a sign which way I was swinging.

One of the problems of being in a boys school, was the inevitable lowering of quality thresholds.
