Inspired by the thread about which state has the best food, I got thinking about the worst meal I've ever had (not home cooked...).
The culprit was a "chicken pie" in a pub in North Wales. We had waited ages and ages for the meal and when it arrived it was one of those "pies" I hate - i.e. slop with a piece of puff pastry floating about on the top of it. The chicken - Lord I hope it was chicken - was chewy and gristly and awful, and the whole thing was lukewarm. It was so vile that 11 years later I can still see it on the plate if I close my eyes. Its vileness was accentuated by the lasagna I ordered the following night from the pub over the road which was the nicest I've ever had.
So, what was the most disgusting meal that has been delivered to your table?

The worst meal I ever had was a chinese chicken balls with curry sauce and fried rice. So good it was bad. Had to have it for dinner about 10 times ina row. Seriously not good for you.

When I was a student my flatmate was going away for a week but said he had left some chicken in the fridge that I could have. Being poor this was gratefully recieved so I whipped up a standard student sitr fry.
It tasted fine but the bugger neglected to inform me it was about 2 weeks past its sell by date so resulted in violent food poisoning for several days.

My sister and I went to a "nice" restaurant in Cambodia. It was one where you go get all the items you want to cook and there's a nice hot cone shaped thiny over a flame where you cook your meat and broth to cook the veg in. Waitress came to the table to start the flame and grease the wok. But first she had to pick the bugs out of the lump of whatever sort of fat it was in the dish. Dozens and dozens of black bugs. Then we went up to get our food which was just big open trays of room temperature meats of unknown origin with the same black bugs, but this time in the hundreds and not dozens, and soggy green things I tell myself were vegetables.
Did I mention the litter of kittens under my table? The mother cat kept trying to jump up on the table to get to our dinner. Feral, mangy, flea infested cat.
