IMO to be correct she would need to say - the dish is Boef Bourguignon. That is what the dish is called. The fact that she doesn't know the dish by it's correct name is pretty poor, especially after 3 months in a cooking competition. Just my opinion.

Well regardless she still was able to name more ingredients than Poh :)

I was in disbelief :blink: I'm no chef, but I'm sure I could have named more than them -- carrots for example - staring out at them :rofl:

She was thinking about pies:p

Beef burgundy

The competition was also not designed to have a winner that was the best chef but who showed the most committment and improvement. With the main theme of an individual moving from home cook to professional.

I think Chris left the competition only marginally better than when he arrived. Whereas I think with all the complaints about Julie she improved dramatically over the competition.

Wonder how long before Julies book hits the shelves? Xmas?

How long will be the wait for a table at Chris's Beer cafe

How long before people try eating at all of the restuarants/cafes

I don't think it will even be that long GG, I reckon about September, they'll need to fast track it in order to capitalise on the shows success. I wonder if it will have the Masterchef 'brand' attached to it? I think it will have to in order for it to stand out and actually sell copies. I wonder if there will be a section on how to 'sweat' off onions....

I honestly think the only one who will go on to have a restaurant is Pigs Head Chris. I won't be eating there though, caramelised pigs bollocks anyone? :rofl:

Depending on where you are in the world, a shallot can be either:

a) a green onion
b) a scallion or spring onion (in Australia)
c) a griselle (France)
d) a eschalotte

Yes, it comes from the Burgundy region of France, hence the type of wine used and the name.

You have just answered the 'I think Chris should have won' question. You wouldnt eat in his restaraunt, nor would I. But I would Julies, she's like a warm mum all packaged up. I

How about a little help with the sorbet too! They tasted it for her - told her it was rubbish and got her to make another batch which they then said was the best they ever tasted! They could of given Poh the same advice with her 'Chocolate Half pipe'!
