I'm not an expert in French by any means but isn't Beef Burgundy translated to Boeuf Bourguignon therefore she was actually correct

IMO to be correct she would need to say - the dish is Boef Bourguignon. That is what the dish is called. The fact that she doesn't know the dish by it's correct name is pretty poor, especially after 3 months in a cooking competition. Just my opinion.

Beef burgundy The competition was also not designed to have a winner that was the best chef but who showed the most committment and improvement. With the main theme of an individual moving from home cook to professional. I think Chris left the competition only marginally better than when he arrived. Whereas I think with all the complaints about Julie she improved dramatically over the competition. Wonder how long before Julies book hits the shelves? Xmas? How long will be the wait for a table at Chris's Beer cafe How long before people try eating at all of the restuarants/cafes - Lucas - Julie - Justine - Chris - Tom ?? |

I honestly think the only one who will go on to have a restaurant is Pigs Head Chris. I won't be eating there though, caramelised pigs bollocks anyone? |

I think it's outrageous that sweaty Julie won. Rigged I tell ya :thumbdown:The fact that she didn't know what the taste test dish was - Beef Burgundy anyone? and then Shallot Gate, well that just sums it up for me. How can the best amateur chef in the country not know what a shallot is?
That all said, my god how tall was her husband and he looked so scary when he came storming in! Was lovely when she got told her family were there. I hate seeing that many grown men cry, bloody big wusses. a) a green onion b) a scallion or spring onion (in Australia) c) a griselle (France) d) a eschalotte |

I don't think it will even be that long GG, I reckon about September, they'll need to fast track it in order to capitalise on the shows success. I wonder if it will have the Masterchef 'brand' attached to it? I think it will have to in order for it to stand out and actually sell copies. I wonder if there will be a section on how to 'sweat' off onions....
