I just wish those people who are so unhappy with the UK weather would just hurry up and move to Australia and stop whinging

So sorry.

I thought talking about the weather was what makes Brits British.

Did not realise this was completely forbidden by the 'UK is paradise on earth' brigade.

Now they are forecasting a month's rain in 48 hours for the UK. Get yer wellies out and buy a boat folks.

My poor sister is managing the Olympic Torch procession on 11th/12th July- no sleep for her. It may have to go by boat at that rate.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but there is very little correlation between what happens on the US East Coast and Britain. There'd probably be more of a reverse correlation if anything.

It's a similar story between Perth and the east coast - sure, cold fronts move from west to east but, as often as not, there'll be a big fat high pressure system preventing them from having much of an impact here. That's why they get wetter winters over there. Summers a different story with a much less pronounced West to East flow.

Hardly a parade :)

Damn ..... New York looks lovely for the next 10 days and in 3 weeks I'll be in the UK. Just hoping.

It has been pissing down every day since April, with the exception of 4 days at the end of May. It is bloody depressing and I am developing webbed feet.

Even the summer sales started a month early to try and flog all those optimistic summer clothes....doubt they are going well as the doom merchants are saying this will last at least another 3 months. (until around the time we leave UK!)

I WANT SOME SUN.

So come over here. It is sunny every day and not a cloud in the sky.

Cheers

I'd much rather a 48 minute downpour than a month of drizzle.

Apparently in total Sydney gets more inches of rainfall than London.
That's because in Sydney, when it rains it pours. But in between heavy rains are periods of uninterrupted blue skies.
