I pretty much don't love summer here, way too hot and humid up here. Spring is nice as is autumn.

Dreading summer. Got the air con back on after it came off in May. Nope - you can keep humidity and all the insects it brings....

We're heading south in a couple of weeks - probably to the Whitsundays for a break and then to Mackay (shite hole but loads of jobs apparently as everyone is shovelling shit into a skip for big bucks). The only positive will be it's a touch less humid than Cairns.

1) There is a new cricket season to play (and sweat) through
2) There is cricket to watch
3) Women tend to wear less

That's it, apart from that it is to be suffered.

For Brisbane at least.

Because it makes the whinging poms whinge even more.

I revel in their discomfort.

I like summer due to the long days - in Victoria.

It's sometimes too hot, but you deal with it until a change comes in.

We spend more time socialising.

We cook and eat outside more.

We sit around drinking beer more.

We get to go camping more.

Summer in the Illawarra is pretty good actually. Don't get many stinking hot days at all, especially down here on the coast. It's preferably to Winter that's for sure. Spring and Autumn, particularly Autumn, are the tops.

Just curious and not having a go... Whats the attraction in camping when you already live miles from anywhere. ? Wouldn't a City break be more of a change ?

Camping is my idea of absolute hell.

As for summer in QLD - hate hate hate it. Can cope with the temps, but not the humidity.

I guess I concur re the Humidity, as that's horrible at a much lower temperature . When it gets to 40 degrees plus here in Melbourne although it's uncomfortable to be outside,. it is kind of interesting to see how it feels. I was in 45 degrees once up in Swan Hill and that was like "WOW...... you don't get this often" Plus there is a different feel to everything... the Animals and Birds go quiet and generally it's pretty still. The only positive thing you can really do is drink copious amounts of beer or other booze... thus you have a good time.

.
