Why is England so rubbish at Rugby?
Just gone down 18-9 to Oz at Twickers. The Wobblies are not even that strong at the mo and didn't break a sweat.

....until the time that it counts, this is what happens in English Rugby. Come World Cup time they will be a different team as usual and probably exact sweet revenge on the Aussies as they have for the last 14 years

I thought it was an ok performance considering it was basically a reserve team, apart from Wilkinson.
The worst part about the game was the terrible commentary on FoxSports. It was like listening to two blokes in an RSL. Amateurish.

I used to think it might be that the dryer pitches of Australia meant that they could play faster rugby. What pisses me off is the way English players take the ball static at times. Back in 2000-2003 England showed they could score loads of tries. They were breaking records and scoring tries against Antipodean teams at Twickenham and on Australian soil. Every opposing fan used to bang on about Wilkinson but the team were good enough to pressure them into conceding penalties in the first place and they were moving the ball out wide. We miss players like Dawson, Johnson, Hill and Greenwood. They were the real stars of the show. Even the much derided Matt Catt had a role to play at times, acting like another 5/8.
No such thing as a friendly in Rugby. That's a soccer term It's a Test match.
That's right - even when the England team were building in the late 90s and gaining confidence against Southern Hemisphere teams they had still managed that win in 1995...
Crazy how England has not lost to an Australia team in a World Cup since the 1991 Final!!
