It's a habit I've acquired, I'm generally on here when Ive a cup of tea made.... I drink a hell of a lot of tea though. It keeps me from doing mundane housework things... The other side of the coin is I dont have that much patience for TV.

Because sometimes questions pop into my head and one of you in here has the answer.
You guys do realise when I log off you all cease to exist till I log on again.

I'm Australian now but will never be an Aussie. I will tread in that half between life of not recognizing household Australian celebs names and still loving a good BBC drama whilst wearing thongs.
Here there are like minded people and very occasionally a pearl of wisdom in the otherwise entertaining drivel.

Re: Why do you bother?
- made some brilliant friends through the site and its a way of keeping in touch
- I'm giving back what I've got from the site
- I'm nosey and like to see what people are doing with their lives, and how views change once they arrive in their new country - and in some cases leave again
- Sue refused to allow me to delete my account
- I enjoy it

The one highlighted in red above means that I've never had to come back with a different name

Re: Why do you bother?
Not yet in Australia but in some respects I feel that I'm already there
BE is addictive and fills those otherwise idle moments to chat, have laughs with, share help and gain (sometimes shocking but often heartwarming) insights into a very mixed bag of people .

Re: Why do you bother?
BE was invaluable before our move for information, I have used it since 2003 when we were first planning our move. When we first arrived in Brisbane Oct 2005, feeling very isolated it was a virtual friend - now we are settled I try to give back any info I can to anyone who asks especially in the business owner field. We have met some fantastic people from the forum - including you good selves

Re: Why do you bother?
I stumbled in here by mistake....Tranzfers website went down which was v. unusual so I googled and found B.E.
Saw a question someone had asked and I had a reasonable answer. That was 4,078 posts ago.
I'd like to think I'm wanting to be helpful but I'm just nosey.

Re: Why do you bother?
Because I'm stuck in a life with a spouse and children who don't speak to me so I have to communicate with someone.

Help others if I can (not often, admittedly)
Feel loved (even less, especially if that Sallybird is about! )
Have a laugh (very common)
I used to post endlessly on AOL UK message boards until they shut them down - this is my little substitute
