I think most people who made 'unkind' comments were and are probably gobsmacked that any airline employee would have gone into any detail at all about the death of a colleague.

As for the comment about Mods thinking there are more dishonest than honest posters is simply daft (if that upsets anyone then bad luck). Just because one person doesn't like that they are being queried by complete strangers about something that did or didn't happen to them doesn't mean that we consider everyone dishonest.

What do any of us know of any other posters? Zip! Dorothy could be a guy living in Sri Lanka with six wives and been in prison for murdering 20 people for all anyone actually knows (other than those who know her of course).

Just because someone says something on a faceless forum doesn't necessarily mean it's true. Most of the time it is, I'm sure, I for one don't have the imagination to make up another person and that goes for the majority of posters but...........

If anyone takes any of the above personally then frankly, get a life. It was very much a general discussion forum comment.

Warning to people who don't like flying. DON'T READ!!!
Was working on a BA aircraft in the hangar at GLA a few years back( I'm an engineer). We were very busy & I was jumping between about 4 different aircraft due to lack of avionic cover.
Finished one of the aircraft & it got towed back to the ramp for the GLA - MAN service. All good. Finished shift, went to bed & came in the next night.
Called into office. Apparently the aircraft could not pressurise, & had to fly to Manchester unpressurised. The engineer at Manchester was called out & dicovered the engineer at GLA(i.e. me) had forgotten to replace the belly panel hatch ,leaving about a 2ft hole on the bottom of the aircraft.
I was soon promoted after that one

Fair comment. But I got the impression some posters were insinuating that the whole thing was made up.
And for the record, I am most definetely a man living in Scotland.

Probably because it sounds highly unlikely. That's not to say it didn't happen, just that people can't imagine it for many many reasons. You can't stop people thinking stuff regardless of whether they voice those thoughts.
