Hi Johanne...funny you said that....it's not exactly one year, but near a damn it....same area, but other leg ....but anyway, it was Helen (Hels) who said that it can come up again...but didn't know for how long after.

Think your right there, there is a program on tv about it there is also a support group for people who suffer white tail bites as some people get very depressed due to the fear of being bitten again or the large scares that some people are left with, I do remember something about the pain and blistering returning on the anniversary dates for years but it was a long time ago i watched this programme so I cant say for sure.
Get well soon I realy feel for you

Thanks...I'll take a look.

At the moment, this bite has a dark spot ( presumably where I was bitten on friday nite), and a blister right next to it - and my leg is very painful.

Going to the docs tomorrow, as think I need antibiotics like last time

I think I killed one of those last night, on our front porch wall. They are smaller than I thought they would be?

Whitetails, Probably the dodgiest creature we face in Victoria. Most people end up getting bitten by one of these. There was a lot of Hysteria about them a few years back, re ulcerated skin etc. I've probably been bitten 3 times by one now. It hurts a lot, the symptoms last a long while, but I didn't get any Ulcers, neither do I know anyone that has got ulcers or any other problems from getting bitten by one.

Worst thing about Whitetails, is in most cases you dont know you have been bitten until they have skidaddled away.

I think the Ulceration and Necrosis thing, is an allergic reaction that very few people get.

I think you'll be fine Cas, Otherwise you would have known all about it last time. Best of luck and have a

They hide in clothing and bedding these buggers, in very close proximity to humans all the time. Still I wouldnt get my house fumigated with kids around.

Yes....though it's a lot better today.

I think they are following me...that's twice I've been bitten by one in two years - and Ozzie eagle has been bitten 3 times in 25 years....he obviously is not as sweet as I am
