Re: Wheelie Bin Rage
I'd go and introduce myself and welcome them as new neighbours. I'd then ask if they knew when their bins were going to turn up as sharing a bin isn't an ideal situation.

I'll have to get my husband to do that when they do it tonight as they are bound to as they have nowhere else to put their rubbish. He is good at things like that. |

I'm wondering if they shouldn't be living in their house yet as its a new build and they haven't paid their council rates so can't get their bins delieverd yet. Wouldn't want to pretend to be them and then get stuck.
We moved into a new build unit last March, the bins arrived two weeks afterwards. We didn't pay any council rates until about a month after that. I doubt whether they've paid any rates has anything to do with them not having any bins. I'd suggest it's down to the council not delivering them. |

I'm going to have to put my bins out in the morning. I normally put them out the night before then any last bags of rubbish go in before bed and again in the morning. I can't do this if they are sneaking their rubbish in leaving no room for ours.
As a last resort, you can keep the wheelie bin in your front room, or hallway. On collection day, you or your husband will need to wait patiently by the wheelie bin. As soon as the truck approaches, race outside, get your bin emptied, then wheel it back into your lounge. If the rubbish gets picked up after 8:30am or 9am, you may need to let your employer know that you'll be arriving late that day each week. |

We had to start paying our rates when we got our temporary occupancy certificate and had to phone to arrange for our bins to be delivered as you can choose what size bins you want. The bigger bin means more money of course. We arranged for our bins to be delivered before we moved in.

I have wheelie bin rage. Our new neighbours opposite moved in a few weeks ago and still don’t have their bins. Is this because they haven’t paid the council rates so can’t get their bins delivered as its’ a new house? I’m getting really annoyed with them sneaking their rubbish in our bins so there is no room for our rubbish. They haven’t even introduced themselves and wouldn’t mind if they asked. They sneaked some rubbish in the neighbours bin also.

It's just bl**dy annoying as our bin overflows every week and I can't squeeze our own rubbish in. We're talking about a weeks for of their rubbish and ours.
They obviously can't, for whatever reason. Bins are free. I don't understand why you'd cause yourself this much distress when the answer will take 5 minutes of your time. (Or half an hour, depending on your council) |

Re: Wheelie Bin Rage
when I had my 3 in nappies, I have to admit to 5am undercover street reccys to put bags in every bin with a bit of space. It was funny, I would whistle and like stroll really slowly with a bag in my hand if anyone came.
what was I thinking :) In wales, you know we always put the bags out on the street - it amazes me now, i cant imagine piling all my rubbish on the road |

Re: Wheelie Bin Rage
Our old neighbour used to sneak rubbish into our bins, we would have said yes had he asked us but by the time he filled it up, we had no space, it was full of gardening waste.
So we would hide the bin from him behind the gate and I would spy him looking confused clutching twigs and stuff as he searched for our bin, then Mr PP would take it out that very morning it was due to be collected. I will be honest, the neighbour didnt look happy about it, there was just him and when he did gardening and stuff there was always heaps of waste that he would sneak into our bins and our stuff would have to wait. Back he would go to his garden with his rubbish and the minute his bin was emptied, it would be filled up again with more stuff almost immediately. He never gave up trying our bin and we never gave up hiding it from him because we thought our rubbish was more important than his. |

I get SO embarrassed when HE unloads our rubbish into the neighbours bins... But fluck me, I have to understand why HE does it... We're a family of six, two dogs and three cats... They are single, old people who just borrow our pussies to stroke in the afternoons whilst we are at work... (I've seen the little attention whores coming out of their units!)... Yet we all get the same size bin..
Whats that about? |
