Roast pork, homemade sage and onion stuffing, roast spuds, roast parsnips, cauliflower cheese, green beans, honey roast carrots. Yorkshire puds if Mr GG can be arsed.

Then either a pav and fresh fruit or lemon meringue pie to follow - not decided what to make yet.

The air con will be on.

Really varied Xmas for people thus far..... Things can only look up for some, and the travellers win the envy award from me. I love Scouses menu though..... Right now my wife is out at the Vic Market picking up some xmas fare... as for me, I'm orf to the Preston Posties Xmas Pisss up in a couple of hours after my post work 4 hour nap... should be good.

Here's to a happy xmas everyone and a great new year.

Watch those waist lines and remember carbs are now supposedly enemy No 1.... wonder what it will be next year.

We're going to friends for lunch and my contribution is:
Italian Christmas pickled port roast with mostrada di frutta (a garnish made mainly with mustard and dried apricots and cherries (these are a bitch to find BTW))

A Greek salad

A lemon fool with berries

Main course - Baked beans (probably cold out of the tin!)
Dessert - Real proper Jelly, cubes, straight from the packet
Washed down with tap water, pretty exotic eh

We are going to my sister's for the day. My BIL is a good cook but they all don't like turkey and so it could be anything but this year its chicken and beef which is about as traditional as it gets for them. Other years they've had Chinese, Indian, Thai etc. he makes it all from scratch ( just to stay out of the socializing I think! )

One of my nephews is in Oz on a working holiday so it will be weird for my sister this year. She told him ' don't stay over there like your uncle did' !

They live on a big private country estate so Flipper will be able to ride her bike for miles without stopping. I think we'll tie a big ball of string to her bike and hau herl back in from the house

Boxing Day they will come to our house for a couple of hours as it will be Flippers birthday.

Turkey crown, two types of stuffing, roast pots and parsnips (barf but 'they' love them), broccoli, several gallons of proper gravy (never have anything other), christmas pud, ice cream. Was going to make a Pav but couldn't be arsed and a daughter decided to make the pud. We don't tend to eat any more than we do on a regular Sunday dinner and have never understood why people do but each to their own etc. The only 'extras' we have are more than one stuffing and a proper pud.

Ham, Broccoli and a 3.5 mile run, before or after doesn't matter.

Freshness is the key, warmer than the surrounding air temp is a good indicator.

Can't help but combine old and new!

Bbq roasted whole rib fillet
Served with roast pumpkin and spinach salad & Parmesan
Potato salad made with small chat potatoes, gerkins and green apple, dressing is half sour cream and half mayo. Lots of black pepper.
Tomato salad with marinated feta.

We were so full, we ate pudding yesterday! Pavlova, marscapone vanilla cream and fresh strawberries & blueberries.

Christmas Eve was prawns and crab and oysters. Thoroughly spoilt, with the exception of husband working yesterday and today!
