1. When you are arrive and are settling in Australia don't refuse any invitations ...... **** what a crock of shit that was!

2. Listened to members opinions about suburbs and about buying/not buying and house pricing .... What a crock of shit that was!

We bought our house in Australia before we even left the UK. It cost us $225,000 and is more than twice the size of our old UK house, on a block nearly three times larger.

I still think it's good advice. You go somewhere, don't like them and don't make any further effort. You may go somewhere and really gel with someone. If you don't accept any invitations then how on earth do people meet friends.
