Default What would you do?

Bit of a dilemma.

Over the years my dad has painted me some pictures, some good but some not so good. I can't bring myself to send them to the tip or destroy them as I would be devastated if he found out, and I just wouldn't do it because they were done especially for me.

But, I need to do something with them because I will never put all of them up. What can I do?

Hi Mandy,
Keep them even if they never go up, if you bin them, you will regret it. Keep them for the kids, they may be fashionable by the time they get their houses

Can you make digital pics and create something on facebook like an album (tell your dad its incase anything happens to them. Classify the pics so the not so nice ones go somewhere.....

Then oh oh the original (not so good ones have been lost in an accident)

No one gets hurt... and certain files can be archived

Don't do it just know, wait until you're there, store them for a while and if you still feel the same (emotional) DON'T throw them out. I for example have 2 hideous cups and saucers (ok bit smaller than the paintings ) from my nan (died in 1999) and I have them stored in the attic, wouldn't chuck them out.

My dad gave us a bunch of paintings he did, too. Like you some were very good and some not so good. He did a pen and watercolour drawing of the house I grew up in and had it framed for me when we moved over here. It was very touching and I have it hanging in my front hall near the 2 I did of my aunt's barns.

Anyway, I brought all the paintings he did and hung them for just long enough to take some photos to send him. He likes to tell people he has his art haging in 4 countries. (Canada of course, me here in Aus, my brother in the US and my sister's ex husband in Germany) It makes an old man happy, so it makes me happy.
