Default What Vacum Part II ....What TV

After the great success of the vacum thread I decided to try it again.

I need(want no one needs a TV) to buy a TV anyway here is where we are so far.

Room its going in is about six steps from the wall to viewing so we reckon a 50 Inch is good enough. Yeah its big but I have lived with my Tube 22" for long enough to treat myself.

We have no Blu ray player. Dont intend to buy one either.

Basically its for TV and standard DVD Movies.

Would prefer it to use as little power as possible, but not to fussed.

So to recap , please recommend me a TV
  • 50 Inch
  • No need for Blu ray or Full HD
  • Low power output if possible
  • Price 500 - 1500 dollars

    Thanks

Believe me you want full HD. It will be the standard soon.

$1391

Blu-ray looks awesome and will upscale your DVDs.

The panasonic also has Viera Cast to watch Internet based stuff if you get it plugged into your home network.

Would be inclined to look towards a 32" LCD for general viewing, coupled with a DLP projector for movies. Go non-FullHD on both and you can save since the emphasis is on 1080p. Don't forget you will need a 5.1 sound system.

If your bargaining skills are good you should be able to pick this one up for around $1500.
