Default What the hell are EMO's?

What the hell is an EMO (could possibly have spelt it wrong)! I'm thinking it's on similar lines to the 'Hoodie' culture? I thought at first, when I saw it being used on one of the threads it was something to do with Emu's Now, how stupid do you think I feel and why the heck did I even admit that....must be the wine

No, it's not on a similar line to hoodies at all it's to do with the type of music they listen to.

No, emos (yoof culture) are almost opposite to hoodies/chavs....

think of shoegazers combined with goths with a smidgen of punk and a whole boatload of self-pity.

i had the strangest experience of having the ' emo' culture explained to me by a seventy yr old lady who runs a punk shop. turns out her daughter in law moved from melbourne to yeovil, and we're going the opposite way.

Sorry- I didn't explain myself well...Must be the wine I meant to say that I thought it might be a trend like Hoodies, Goth etc Thanks to everyone for explaining though - I'll look out for sign's in my Young uns!!

Yes I think they look good I was a new romantic/ punk, it's good to be a bit different

My lad reckons it's all a load of rubbish about them self harming
