Have somewhere to live and bank account but what else should i do???

Try to stay awake during daylight. Prove your identity with your bank if you havent already. Figure out how to get around on public transport. Find where the cheap shops are (i spent a fortune in the first few weeks because I didnt know where the cheaper stuff was). Sort out your drivers license if you can. They want bank statements though (and not the ones the bank will print off for you). It has to have your australian address on it. If you have all that, you'll be in and out in 20 minutes with your new licence. go and sort out medicare as well with the same documents. You dont really need to do all of that in your first week, but its what i did (or tried to do).
Also, get yourself a sim card (if you can bring over your unlocked phone from uk).

was badly jetlagged for what seemed like forever - it was a good 3 weeks until i could sit at a computer and look at the screen.

I sorted bank, centrelink, medicare and drivers license

Bank Account, TFN, Medicare, Health Insurance, buy car, start work.
