What did you do to declutter and make someone's day?

Dear all,
I feel like I am the king of Ebay....sold the car, all my sports kit not required for Oz, half the baby stuff......
And then I looked in the loft - a job only half done for two reasons: SWMBO is keeping it for sentimental reasons, and there is some stuff that will never sell on Ebay....or anywhere else for that matter!
Has anyone out there made a charity's day, or done something out of the ordinary to make a difference?

If you have stuff that wont sell on ebay or not worth much and you dont mind giving it away you can use this site: http://uk.freecycle.org/
Whenever we have a clear out and have stuff with little or no value we put it on here so as to not create more landfill.
There is all ways someone that will want/use it .

I took loads of stuff to the local charity shop before we departed, certainly seemed to make them happy.

Clothes/shoes/books, heaps of stuff it all went to Cancer Research/Hospice charity shops and they were pleased with it.
Yes I could have sold it but it felt right to give to charity and we have no regrets

Hi Everyone,
When we were getting ready to move, the things we didn't want or couldn't take with us we put them in this order.
Sell (didn't really sell anything, no one buying)
Give to family/friends
Freecycle (do they do freecycle in Oz?)
Charity
Tip
We had family and friends appearing with cars and vans, which we were pleased with as we felt our stuff was going to a good home, remember a table is for life, not just for christmas
The stuff we put on Freecycle went almost immediately and for the most part to VERY grateful people. It's a good feeling.
Then charity for anything which they thought would sell and the tip for the rest.
It does mean that we're not shipping our rubbish half way around the world and paying an horrible price to do so.
Thanks all
M

I give all my unwanted stuff to charity - well in the UK I did, all my stuff now is wanted.
I would rather do that than sell it - it is a worthwhile cause in my opinion.

Well, OH gone to do a boot sale today, will see how that goes. A lot of clothes, bedding & curtains have gone to the Charity clothes recycling bin at Tescos.
Some stuff going onto e-bay this week.
Anything that is left will be given away to either friends or charity shop.
