Hi folks. I am after a bit of advice as I am in process of starting up my own house cleaning/window cleaning business. I am researching thoroughly before plunging in. Have done this work before but in UK. I live in Maroochydore and will be offering regular cleaning service to clients with houses and apartments. For anyone who is lucky enough to employ a cleaner/window cleaner or for those cleaners willing to share financial side of things what is a reasonable rate to charge? Info particular to Sunshine Coast would be particulary helpful. I am looking at quoting by the hour and will supply all cleaning equipment and materials. Thanks for any advice anyone can provide. Thanks Pam. Have an idea of what to charge but wanted to know whether my amounts are over or I am selling myself short. I realise I need to match the local market. Just to throw my own thoughts in I was thinking arount $80 for a three hour clean. In three hours I can do a large house - four bedrooms, three bathrooms and toilets including shower screens, kitchen tops, splash backs, fronts of cupboards, sink and draining boards, polishing surfaces throughout house and vacuuming and mopping all floors. My quality of work is good but I work fast.

Ha ha. No, there are no babies or social networking distractions. I know what I am like cleaning my own house whilst keeping one eye on junk daytime TV and facebook - I just go round in circles achieving not a lot. When I'm in someone else's home I plug myself in to the IPOD and don't stop till the job is done. Hubby doesn't believe me but it's true!

Hi
I have a neighbour who has also just started a cleaning business and she charges 25$ an hour for normal household clean I think.A bond clean can be around 3-400$ but that takes a whole day of rigorous cleaning.Hope that helps and good luck btw she is based on Sunshine Coast too.

In Sydney I pay $85 for 2 people - married couple - to clean a 3-bed 2-bath 2-storey apartment (so pretty housey, TBH) which is about 1.5 hours.

In between doing my other jobs I clean for about five old dears.I charge $25 ph hour which is way more than what I get for cleaning my house.
.For that they get a good clean all over(their house, not the ladies)I vacuum and clean floors and they are always thrilled with their place afterwards. It also includes me listening for ten minutes about their aches and pains.I love doing it actually.

You don't need to be insured if you're earning under a certain amount of cash...

Like the others on here I pay $25 ph BUT this doesn't include window cleaning or anything to do with the washing - even if I leave a note to say could she bring the washing in if dry/looks like its going to rain etc she doesn't. If you are going to do ironing this is also a separate charge and I pay on average about $50 pw - this is usually a large basket full. Window cleaning is very expensive here so don't undersell yourself if you are going to be doing windows.
