Re: What age is considered
When you are ten, someone who is twenty is twice as old as you are but only ten years older.
When you are 60, someone who is 70 is only a bit older than you.

Re: What age is considered
At 51, I can see the old person waiting to emerge- my skin belongs to someone else and doesn't fit me any more, my eyes are at least 70 with cataracts, and who took my glossy brown locks and stuck grey crinkly pubes on my head??
I'm not ready to be so old, so the hairdye has come out, but there is nothing short of a face lift that will cure the sagging skin. Yet only 3 years ago, no one would have believed I was nearly 50 as I could easily pass for a 40 year old. Has Australia aged me so much?

Re: What age is considered
Yesterday my husband and I were talking and I said to him that I thought I was developing bingo wings. He told me that he noticed them about a year ago but thought I already knew so didn't feel he needed to tell me. He also very kindly let me know about the age spots I'm developing on my hands and face. Really, he's far too kind.
I don't like the sound of them.
Please tell me they are above the waist.

When your upper arm flesh hangs loosely and wobbles - as seen on old ladies playing bingo when they get a house and raise their arm. The flesh wobbles for a good 30 seconds after their arm stops moving.
Dammit- I'd forgotten that I'd got those as well- at least in winter they are hidden under fleeces. AND it isn't just larger people who get them- I'm slim.

Well I've just turned 50, look like I'm 40 and behave like I'm 30. And let me tell you, there are a lot of 40-50 year old ladies out there that look years younger too. ( most of them north European and NOT been in Australia for too many years. ) Staying out of that sun has a lot to do with it. I know some 'dinky-dye' Aussies that are 30 and look 60, so it works both ways.

I'm laughing at the thought of you furtively checking her upper arms...what are you going to do...the old, "Hey, what's that over there?"

Just asked 18 year old First Born. Her words were '60? or when I'm being a bitch, your age'. She then added 'The mother's ancient, if that helps'. The mother is 86.

Just take her to Bingo. It's what us over 40's do for entertainment. I even put on lippie and get out the good Zimmer frame when the old man and I go.
