I checked on the internet for prices for the Canon 1000D, found the cheapest one in Hong Kong, went into the local Clive Anthony and they price matched with no problem. Always worth checking it out.

Isnt there a different memory card I need to use to do HD video recording? I cant remember what it is called. I wonder how big I can go - 16gb perhaps?

you need a minimum of 133x speed, the size is not that important, it is the speed you need otherwise it will cause your cameras buffer to slow down to a stop while you are recording
