Exactly! 'Baywatch Squad' walking around the lagoon in our shorts. You gotta give the people what they want! ;)

Only got one more week left at South Bank actually, I'm going to miss it.

Really ? Are you saying if there is a green traffic light and you are turning you must give way to people crossing against the lights ? I never knew that.

They're not, they have the green light also.

Regardless of what many on here say, I still say there are masses of polite, decent drivers out there.

Of course!

Don't let a few whiners thrash the reputation of many.

This might sort of happen - I mean 1500 kg of car waiting for the last person to cross can't help it! At one quiet junction, I often creep forward, wave people over, wait until the last person's buttocks have cleared my fender, then go.

They have a green pedestrian sign - you have a green.

Arguably it's an accident waiting to happen!

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I'm surprised so many of these elite U.K drivers, the ones that think the Aussies are so piss poor, are ignorant of such a basic road rule.

From Your Keys to Driving In Queensland:

When you turn at an
intersection, you must
give way to pedestrians
crossing the road you are
entering.

So even if you have a green light you must give way to any pedestrians crossing the road. The lights are often sequenced so that the pedestrian crossing light is green at the same time the motorist gets the green light.

That's all good and well but you have to find a true queenslander that can read first before you can expect them to follow the rules.

I get a kick out of pedestrians that glare at car drivers with that look of - if you hit me you're in trouble buster!!! If I ****ing hit you!!! I'll mame you for the rest of your pathetic life and I'll be inconvenienced by a one off relatvely small fine.

Giving way to any pedestrian is always better than facing a manslaughter charge.

That's stating the obvious...

I'll see your manslaughter charge and raise you a dead fool on the side of the road... I'd rather have the manslaughter charge than some part of my body smeared across the road - but your YMMV.

Being right isn't much conciliation when you're dead or severely maimed for life is it.

I know a couple people that have lost body parts cause of auto accidents that were 100% the others fault and I don't see them preaching they were right. But they always say they'ed give back every penny of the insurance settlement and then some just to have their body back in one piece.

How often do you see a pedestrian that walks out into oncoming traffic whether it's on a cross walk of j-walking or standing at the side of a busy road fumbling for keys while traffic is racing by only inches away, whether they have a right of way or not, with the attitude of **** you I'll do what I like... All I can say is I've evolved and learned to walk up right and give way to 1500kg objects that are travelling in excess of 60km/h (crawling speed in aus) just as I don't flip the bird at 6' 6" 230lb Samoans, Maoris, women with PMS or well armed midgets.
