``I'm not actually having a go at them,'' she said.

That is quite shocking - I'm surprised she even wrote Aboriginal in full and didn't just write "Abo" to add to the effect...

Having worked on Aerodrome Rd (which is pretty much an industrial estate by the side of the Bruce Hwy) - I can't say I'm overly surprised.

I have to say it's quite funny,it made me chuckle,and i ain't no racist,foo.

Can't say it made me laugh but I don't see it as racist tbh. She's just putting up daft 'jokes' and has been for 10 years apparently and this one backfired. Had she meant it in a nasty way she would have put 'Abo'. However an Aboriginal took offence so she's removed it. Can't legislate against stupidity but she seems to have learnt from it, has said she won't put any more up so another non story imo.

I admit my comment was worded badly. Yes, it, in itself was racist, however it wasn't meant that way. My point stands that it wasn't done in a malicious way any more than someone making a stupid joke about Poms not washing, or Afro Caribbeans being called Chalky. She made a mistake, she wasn't intending to be racist, she now realises others know it was and has removed it. Like I said, non story. Anyone who has never made a mistake and unwittingly hurt someone stand up now.

So saying scousers steal things is ok in most peoples eyes. Isnt that racist too??

(Fairly sure that Scousers, however unlikely it may seem, are the same race as I am, thus it isn't racist. It could still be offensive, but it isn't racist. I now await a host of posts from people who claim that discrimination laws cover Scouse jokes)

I don't actually accept that it was a joke that didn't have bad intentions behind it. The subject of "Stolen Generation" is similar to that of the Holocaust, in that it is an extremely sensitive subject that shouldn't really be joked about in such an incensitive way. That person was able to achieve two things in that "joke", offend a people by joking about a tragedy that was bestowed upon them as well as racially classing them as thieves.

She would have been fine if only she had written Scouser instead of aboriginal... Dozy bint.
