What way round are the taps? And do you have a deep or shallow sink, is the tap metal or rubber, and is it hot or cold water? All these factors have an effect as does the way the earth spin, the speed at which it does, the tilt of the earth and what foot you are standing on while you are touching your nose with your finger!
And Jen if you or any one else who thinks this is NOT an urban myth could get in touch with Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge uni's they will be thankful that you have discovered such vital information while stood in your bathrooms!

Obviously I read the original post wrong cause i don't remember it saying University professors and world experts does this happen or is it an urban myth.
My god get a grip, why can't things be light hearted and fun.
I suppose your also the guy that goes round saying to little kids that Santa isn't real either

OMFG does everything have to be analysed, I didn't once say I was an expert and to be quite honest I don't give two hoots about the theories facts or anything else the question was asked and I commented from our holiday in Oz the water went down the plug hole the opposite way to what it does in our bathroom in the UK, ask my masters degree educated husband who also doesn't really give a crap why it did, I also couldn't care less what caused it.
