ah yes - but perhaps thats because they're all too busy hiring appropriately certified, qualified electricians to unplug the hair drier and plug in the electric toothbrush every night. Dont you know touching ANYTHING electrical is almost certain to be fatal unless you've attended the relevant TAFE course?

Not seen that down here in Vic at all. Why do you need a drain in the middle of the floor?

If your bath or sink overflows (young kids - enough said) then your house is not going to get flooded.

A good idea.
Ah ok, my bad. Have you not got overflow outlets on yours then? Still not seen these in Vic though.

We had to pay extra to get a door on our ensuite and a 'privacy lock' on our main toilet on our new house. IMO some things should remain behind closed doors..

Sure, but if a tap has been left on full blast, the overflow outlet may not be enough.

None of the basins/sinks in this house have outlets and the old bath didn't either. Don't have plugs attached either and that pisses me off occasionally.

Aye, watching the wife chop a log does tend to ruin the ambience for me ...

That's worse in Hotels in Aus - No plugs - having a shave is a bloody nightmare when you can't fill the basin...

It's an odd one. Most things that are 'different' I can kind of work out a reason for but no plug chain attachment just makes me stratch my head.

You see, that would be the most logical approach, but I always tend to forget it...

I wouldn't have a new build as a gift. Most of the places we are looking at are 1800's bigger houses and most have a utility room, I could live without one but it's a bonus.
