Default Waitangi Day/ Australia Day so how about Britain Day

Having had a great day out at the Gold Coast Australia Day events and a pretty average day for Waitangi Day, what about organising a Pommie/ Britain Day?

I've come up with the following attractions/ events?

Morris Dancing (For the Non Poms - just think of the Haka performed by Stamp Collectors).

A Burberry Stall.

A penalty shoot out stall - no Germans/ Argentinians allowed to try.

A warm beer stall.

A stall for anyone who wants to complain about the weather.

A Sandals and socks stall.

The English, Welsh, Scottish & Irish arguing Bar over who is the best at what.

We also need a minor celebrity. I'm thinking maybe Terry Nutkins or Keith Chegwin.

This is a work in progress, so idea's are still needed.

Paul.

No chance Paul the ethnics would have it stopped in the blink of an eye and burn down an embassy or two shouting slogans! while the police stand by and do nothing.

But if it did get off the ground to complement the morris dancing we need a may pole.....our school always had a may pole at the summer fete.

Make the celebrity Bobby George

Translate the Dialect.... Irish, into Geordie through to West country, back to Cockney, and then into Glaswegian for example.

Beer Gut Contest

Regional food tastings, Jellied eels, through to Haggis, even Mushy peas.

Got to have the Largest Marrow as well.

Convert the Biblical passage into chav speak

Assemble the deck chair contest.

Beat the German to the pool side deck chairs, for those pre 4am risers amongst us.

Reliant robin parade.

Best name I can come up with so far is

yUcK day.

We all to have to turn up in our national clothes of course. You get to choose between kilts or shellsuits.
