Which vet for dog shipping?
Hi,
Anyone know if you can use a local vet for testing dog prior to shipping? Aquis site says government approved vet (?) My local vet doesn't seem to have much idea of export - anyone know of one they could recommend in Worcestershire?
Cheers

Contact your local Defra office they can send you a pack with all the important info for exporting and also provide you with a list of approved vets in your area. They were also very helpful on the phone. We used our usual vet for exporting our cats and had no problems.

Hi DTP
We used our vets for all the injections and kennel cough etc. We have also had a pet passport done just in case we need to bring him back here (6 months quarantine otherwise), don't think we will but you never know. All done now and the pet carriers have just sent me a form to say that we have to book him in for his final blood tests on 20th Oct, which is a month before he flys and the tests have to be sent to the approved testing place (they gave me the name and address for the vets to send off).
Hope that helps.
