Default Vegemite

This is a completely pointless post but hey I'm on maternity leave and there's only so much nesting you can do before the baby arrives!

My friend sent me over a jar of Marmite which I do love, well I used to love ... after living here for a year and a half I have now realised that I prefer Vegemite!

Is this a sign that I'm nearly integrated into the Aussie culture??? (Although the mayonnaise and coleslaw are still cr@p!)

I feel like I need to confess, my name is Lucy and I now prefer Vegemite to Marmite

Anyhoo, yep, pointless post!

Lucy

I've been here 11 years and I like both. Still prefer Marmite but Vegemite is very nice in Salad sandwiches (instead of cr@p mayo!)

Just by the way, when I was pregnant I couldn't touch Marmite but it was the first thing I wanted after Baby was born

I think I shall put it down to homones..

I am such a marmite freak - vegemite is to Marmite what gravy Granules are to Bisto Powder! (tongue wedged firmed in cheek! LOL!)

Seriously tho, I wonder what you will prefer once babe puts in an appearance?

What I have learnt about BE is nothing is pointless. In fact the more basic the question/post the more complicated the debate will become!

I can down here. PM me your address and I will send you some.

For the other posters - if you can get Yumis mayonnaise it is very good - nearly as good as making your own.

Pregnancy does all kind of strange things to your taste buds

If you're nesting then how much longer do you have to go?

Does Vegemite taste the same here as it does in Oz? May be a daft question but I know Dairy Milk was different. If it is the same as here then YUCK!! Will be Marmite all the way for me.

We prefer Our Mate which is Marmite (they can't use Marmite name in Oz as somebody else has it)

Can you check first that it is not the 'new' Bovril made from yeast extract. I can get it here, and it's just not the same.

4 weeks to go! Woohoo!
I hadn't thought that it could be the hormones, maybe my marmite fetish will return after she arrives then?
