Hi Guys
Me and my partner are in the process of moving to Canada. However her son, no he is not mine, wants to "Go Walkabout" in Australia and New Zealand before joining us. He is also thinking of possibily continuing his studies out there.
He will be 18 when he travels, and that wont be till next summer. Yes I know its a long way off but he still wants to investigate and start the saving process, after all whatelse will he spend his EMA on

Does anyone know of any good websites that he can use to get an idea of what to expect when he arrives?? or better still if there is a forum that he can join where he can make contacts, network with young brits out there.
For obvious reasons I only after web addresses that I can pass on.
Many thanks in advance for any useful pointers

Lonely Planet's Thorntree forum is full of people (not just Brits) here on various types of walkabout. There's very little they don't know about where to go, what to do and how to do it.

It's good to explore when you are young too, hope your partner thinks the same for her son. I went to have a look at canada when I was 20 & stayed 19 years. Now happy in oz
