Default Unbelievable leniency

I just read this

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/8345756.stm

and was astounded that it is recommended that they serve at least
5 years Angela Allen
7 years Vanessa George

....which is not really much of a deterrant. They would have got more for fraud.

Unfortunately though with crimes such as that I'd say it's questionable whether there can be a deterrent. People like that are very very sick.

Sounds like a reasonable sentence. "Judge Mr Justice Royce warned George that she could face "the rest of your days" in prison unless she proved she was safe to society.

He dubbed George "wicked, cold and calculating" and told her: "It is in effect a life sentence."

Doesn't sound unbelievably lenient to me. The fact they refuse to name the children involved means they won't be out any time soon.

but it was the 'serve at least" bit which seems lenient as this means they can be eligible for parole after this time....

And there is the "get out of jail" card. All she needs is a bleeding heart like Lord Longford (Now Dead) to champion her case, together with a few psychiatrists that show her some inkblots and they will be out with new identities in a few years.

If it is any consolation, I am fairly certain they will be subject to some rough justice inside!

yes it's quite amazing the stories you hear of some of the worst criminals of all time ganging together inside to make child killers/molesters' life hell
