Which type of washing machine
and why...
|
Re: Which type of washing machine
Front loader because a) we brought it with us; b) they are more economical and c) it's not in my genes to use a top loader  I did actually have a top loader in the holiday rental we had when we were first here and I got on with really well and had no problems that loads of other people have.

Re: Which type of washing machine
Top loaders ruin your clothes... Can't you spot the Aussies walking around who still persist with them? :p
I hate water guzzling top loaders.. :curse: |
Re: Which type of washing machine
I have a front loader and much prefer them. Top loaders I have used in the past have not been kind to clothes, they are really rough. I am sure some of the more recent models are a bit more up to date in terms of clothes handling.

Re: Which type of washing machine
Front loader....because they wash better and use less water.
Top loaders are shite! |
Re: Which type of washing machine
front loader as it cuts down on the ironing
I was given a free top loader in Oz by an expat going home it was 1 year old Oh my word it was terrible hooks and eyes got broken and the clothes were terribly creased binned it and got a new front loader so anyone in Sutherland want a free top loader they can come and get it  |
Re: Which type of washing machine
front loader
all i've ever known. uses less water (bonus if on a meter), clothes turn out better. |
Re: Which type of washing machine
can't quite believe that you only have 2 votes for toploader and 1 of them is mine!!
used a toploader in Oz when we came over for a holiday 12months ago and loved it....bigger than conventional front loader, easier to load and unload, just really liked it....when we come over will probably bring my front loader over but thats because its only 14mths old and a fairly top of the range one, but if i had a choice, would deffo get a top loader!! |
Re: Which type of washing machine
Top Loader
because it's the norm for me  |
Re: Which type of washing machine
Front loader, no argument.
Superior water economy; superior power economy; superior wash; superior dry; gentle on clothes. And if you buy a European model, you can mention it at cocktail parties but STILL SOUND POSH! "Oh, the washing? Well, I have a little white European who does that for me..." |

We've bought one here and will be be taking over. Cheaper in the UK anyway, and if you've only purchased it in the last couple of years (as we did) there's no point in getting another one so soon.
:) Thanks Vash:thumbup: |
Re: Which type of washing machine
My pleasure.
:) |
Re: Which type of washing machine
Front loader every day. Top loaders stretch your clothes and use more water and IMO don't wash as well. Also I am only 5ft with short arms and I can't reach into the bottom of them. Thankfully I have a massive arse otherwise I am sure I would have toppled into the one I had when I first moved here!
