Transfer oz reg plates to uk?
Hey people, just wondering if it's possible to transfer oz vehicle registration plates to the uk to be legally used on the roads?
If so, how?
Thanks.

I'e seen european rego plates in Canberra.. even seen some israeli plates in Sydney... I suspect they came with their cars though.
Seems like a great effort for them to bring their car to Oz.

Personally, I'd love to live in Cornwall if I ever went back and I'd love my number plate to read "Cornwall...Yarp it or Narp it!"....and leave!"

The standard NSW plates have started looking a bit like UK military plates.

No. I've seen some proper euro plates in Australia... on cars with steering wheels installed on the incorrect side.

I would guess if they are relatively new cars and left hand drive then they would be here on a temporary basis. I think left hand drive cars have to be over a certain age to be permanently allowed on the roads here (i.e. they have to be classic cars).

I was thinking that the DIPS would have DIP plates. Maybe some want to import their cars for their spouses or something. Probably some tax dodge.

as an aside..... it's quite amusing to see cars with DC plates parked outside some of the porn superstores here in Canberra. Not the best look for their country or the diplomatic community..
