That's like saying a melanoma patient doesn't really have cancer because it can be excised without drugs. Siren
I am saying that MPD is a disorder that is caused by repeated traumatic experiences in the main, and therefore primarily a mental health issue (psychologically induced). It is not therefore a true psychiatric disorder.

Drugs can treat many things BUT in cases of non-psychiatric disorders that are mental health issues (caused by psychic/psychological disturbance) they only treat the symptoms, not the cause.

This is why for instance the most successful means of treating long term depression is through a mix of medication and therapy (alleviates the symptoms therefore allowing the patient to focus on theraputic intervention).

Most psychiatrists do not involve themselves with therapy, instead soley relying on using medication to treat all ailments of the mind. Why?

Because we use what is known as the 'medical model' and there are huge commercial profits to be made by the manufacturers of pharmaceuticals as well as lowered costs for governments.

Okay, to dispel 2 myths and sorry for everyone that really wanted to believe them.
Tom Cruise did say he was going to eat the placenta but HE WAS JOKING and that hasn't been reported anywhere.
Katie Holmes was allowed to make as much noise as she wanted! It was all the people around her that needed to keep as quiet as possible!

I'm not a scientologist and I'm not Tom Cruise's biggest fan. Just wanted to put the facts straight
