Default Tivo

Just bought a Tivo with my government hand out. I had to get rid of our Dodgy Tech, it was doing our head in.

Great thing so far, so easy to use.

Woke up yesterday and it had automatically recorded 13 programs, just clicked the thumbs down button and it never recorded them again.

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical, but I am impressed with its ease of use.

By government handout are you referring to the handout for stimulating the economy which was recently contested in court by a law academic?

If so, how did you get it so soon?!

I organised all my superannuation funds and things so that I do not pay any tax at all so I miss on this handout. Also missed the last one because income and assets were too high. Can't complain, I'm heaps better off here than I would ever have been if I stayed in UK.

Must have a look at a Tivo, they seem to be quite useful. Do you just buy it or is there a subscription to pay as well?

But then you have to pay Foxtel $$$$$ to Murdoch. Can you copy programs off your IQ?

Just got a Tivo here. Suggestions take a bit of tuning but it is getting the idea. We will save a packet on buying DVDs for the kids. If you are with Internode VOD through block buster will be available without impacting your quota.

The other options depend on an electronic programming guide through IceTV which is going through the courts with Channel 9. The TV channels are crapping themselves at the thought of ad skipping. The main boxes using Ice are Beyonwiz and Topfield.

700 for a Tivo and 100 for the networking software to copy programs. How much is IQ?

Yes just buy, no subscription.

You can stream movies, Music, Photo's from your PC to your tv screen, you can also transfer recorded programs to your PC to burn on to DVD or watch on your PC at work.
