Default tips for moving to AU

Hi,

I have got my 175 some time back.. i am planning to move by Feb2nd week...

I have never been to Oz so far...

I am single & work in IT-JAVA, can the experts out there help me with couple of queries:

1. How is the job market in Aus now ?
2. Is Sydney a good place to land or should i think of some other place?
3. How much is the minimum money that i should bring with me?
4. Wat will be the average expense for a month (house rent, phone bill, food...)

Thanks....

Ok, let's see if we can come up with some answers for you:

1. The market has been a bit wobbly but when compared with UK's, much better and more jobs actually are appearing now

2.Sydney is your best bet for IT jobs for programmers/project managers etc.

3.Sydney is also an expensive place to stay so get as much as possible. While you're looking for a job here, you will need to cover for expenses like rent, photocopying, buying papers, calls etc...Ideally you will need around $5,000

4. I would say that depends on your lifestyle but I would say easily around $1500-$2000 a month (if you're going out a lot then more)

One tip: make sure you bring over every reference you can manage and redo your CV to suit the Australian market.

Oh, and don't forget to enjoy the beautiful weather and people here...
