Perth is GMT + 9, Dubai is GMT + 4.

whenever I want to work out time differences I just go this site

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

It tells you live time in most of the cities around the world. Dubai is 5 hours behind Perth.

Stick the above URL in your favourite (I have it on screen as a "Link") and customise for the countries all your mates/family live in, then you can tell at a glance what time it is and who might be there to chat to you.

I work for the same UK company as I did before we moved... and we have customers on the East Coast of the USA... so I have a nice little Google Sidebar gadget on my main PC with clocks for all the relevant timezones. Makes it much easier to keep track of it all.

The most fun is doing conference calls with the USA... the East Coast is 14 hours behind Perth. So I've had to get up for an hour's call at 3am.

Cheers

Yeah - my husband does concalls and webcasts at all hours. I'm sure he's not awake for half of them.
