I could ask you to reread your original post but I suspect your customary claws would come out so I'll leave it at that!

Generalisations like yours are common here but they really don't achieve anything.

But generalisations such as 'sausages better than any in blighty' are perfectly fine :D
I certainly find the sausages here generally much tastier but it's not a big deal really.

If you want decent sausages, go to a butcher and not a supermarket - in the UK or Australia. Sausages are generally poor in both countries - Spain, Germany, Italy, SA lead the way

Even Aldi sell them.

Pommie sausages are generally bland pork and little variety compared to Oz, eg the Asian varieties alone. And don't get me started on pommie (Danish) bacon pumped full of brine. Double smoked organic low salt bacon from one supplier in particular is astonishing.

Most bacon sold in Australia is from Denmark so what is the difference:confused:

It's almost funny until of course one spanner takes the piss and ruins it for everyone. At my brothers work, people announce in advance when they're going to be off sick...and it's fine apparently!

I don't get this sickie thing here, or anywhere to be honest. I never phone in sick unless I am (I'm very black and white about it... I won't come in if I'm contagious and get prickly with those that are and still come in). If I want a day off I simply ask for one and have never been turned down anywhere. I think that's one thing any boss wants - just be honest. I've often been asked to make up the time but in the end they always either forget about it or say don't worry about it.

Also: I don't know how anyone can rave on about a pie when they've drowned it in that red shit or some other sugar laden congealed puss concoction. What's the point - might as well eat dog shit instead.
