Tesco Rumour
My Ozzie wife, bless her, has discovered the joys of interent shopping and has now joined the short list of other Aussies who now realise that they have been paying over the odds for shoddy goods for years. The UK and the US provide her with most of what she wants now.
Whilst googling she somehow got to a Tesco website selling clothes. She saw a coat of £20.00 which she has seen for $300.00 here. The website states that Aus isn't on their maling list. So, she emailed customers service and received a reply that Tesoc has had so many enquiries from Oz asking for delivery here that they are now thinking about addingOz to their list of destinations. All right, we now it isn't great quality gear that they are offering but for everyday kickabout stuff it would be good. Watch this space. |

I've found that even if Australia isn't listed on their delivery details page if you contact them they normally will do it and give you a quote for a price.

Oh frig. Sorry Sherlock. I tried on m and m direct and they did it and Oliver Bonas. Apparently Tesco's profits were down significantly this quarter - time to open up to British expats!

Re: Tesco Rumour
Latest update is that Tesco is in the PROCESS of adding Australia to its list of destinations so we should be right soon.

Re: Tesco Rumour
Or if you still have friend's/relatives in the uk, you could always have it delivered to their house and have them send it out to you.

I am indebted to Ozzieeagle for suggesting that we get organised on BE and get lots of people to email tesco asking for delivery to Australia. Perhaps you could add a note on this thread as and when you have emailed them. :)
I'll join this crusade. What's the Email address? S |

For those of you that care, the other day I saw Next clothing in a factory outlet on the next block to where I live.
(Should this be in the Dull thread? ) |

Re: Tesco Rumour
I have done as requested.
Here was my heartfelt plea: Dear Mr Tesco (or Mrs Tesco, I know you're good on equality) I was a Tesco customer for many years and loved the range of good quality, value for money clothes in your stores. When I moved to Australia, I would fondly recall those days of just being able to pop out for a car load of food and buy a dress, a pair of shoes, clothe three kids and buy the Other Half a sweatshirt at the same time, and still have change from a tenner. Here in Australia, low cost clothes inevitably means rubbish quality. When I saw you had international delivery available, I became strangely excited.. until I saw that Australia was not one of your destinations. Now I am heartbroken once more and determined to change your mind. Please include Australia in your delivery regions! We can get Marks & Spencer to deliver here, and a whole host of expensive stuff, but I miss my F&F gear. Pretty please? |

Here was my heartfelt plea: Dear Dreamy, Many thanks for your enquiry regarding deliveries to Australia. I am very sorry, but we are unable to deliver to Australia at the moment, however there have been many enquiries and hopefully this will be a service we can provide in the future. Thank you again for your enquiry. |

The brands I use have shifted manufacture from England to China (what's new) They do seem to have retained some quality - and still come in over Next etc. |

Re: Tesco Rumour
my reply
Dear Margaret, I'm sorry to say that at the moment we don't ship goods to Australia, I am very sorry for any disappointment this will cause. Our International Shipping service is still quite new and the countries included are all areas we have had high volumes of requests to ship to so it may be something we do in the future. If this is the case, please be assured it will be advertised on the website. I have passed your interest on to my Business Support team. I hope this helps with your query. Thank you for showing an interest in Clothing at Tesco. Kind regards Susan Campbell Clothing Customer Services |
