temporary / permenent visa challenges
Hi all
I am on a temp spouse visa (it becomes permenent in July 2010.
For now I am finding times when having a "temporary" spouse visa a bit of an issue e.g: credit card companies say you have to hold a 'permenent visa' or jobs I apply for are only for permenent visa holders, has any one else come across this and been "discriminated" against for holding a "temp" spouse VISA (309 class) I love living in Oz and My wife is so happy to be back and near her family but It is a little annoying to be treated diferently to those who are Permenent residents. Do you know a way around this other than the obvious answer of waiting till next August when I get my Permenent VISA (Class 100) I would welcome comments and observations!
thanks

My OH is on 309 (100 going through as we speak). Had no issues with credit cards, lines of credit, mortgage etc.
Regarding jobs, no discrimination as such BUT some govt jobs do require PR and/or citizenship. I don't see this as discrimination though.
So, in summary, other that what we knew, no haven;t been discriminated against at all.
