re: The Technology Thread & What's your favourite new electronic/electric gadget & why?
Just ordered a Yonana frozen desert maker, it's very health, doesn't use dairy or added sugar, just fruit... Ohhh, but it wouldn't be a lot of use to you antipodeans, would be a little expensive as the base fruit is BANANA. You just let them get really ripe, then deep freeze them, then put them through the machine adding other fruits. or chocolate or nuts, as required. It produces a soft scoop desert tha is, apparently, very healthy. (well the chocolate one isn't quite as healthy!!
Info here.. Banana Ice Cream Maker &Recipes | Yonanas= |

Oh I love, love, love my Samsung Smart TV.
Even if Middlechild does insist on sending programmes to the telly while I'm watching Antiques Roadtrip :D I also love (in no particular order) my kindle (although I still appear to be buying just as many paper books too) (and it isn't new, it's about 4 years old) my quick/slow cooker thingy (this is, however, about 3 years old) my new Samsung S4 (yes, I could have got the S5 but I would have had to pay extra and I don't actually get a phone signal here) especially as virginmobile sent me a case of wine for free, just for getting it. My vivofit activity tracker. That red bar of death certainly helps me get my steps in for the day. |

I use the iPad and iPod Touch every day. They do "just work".
I like my recently acquired Moto G too though. The Android flexibility rocks, portable hotspot+iThings = Happy Techie. Nadgers. (edit) I punched it and it's back working ... Seriously ... Just like this kid ... |

Correction, "worked", my iPad has just crapped itself, corrupted display.

But that's where it comes into it's own! As there is no 4k content, your Yammy up scales 1080p to 4K giving you the feeling!
See above, why? There is no 4K material to watch yet? I just got a new GPS watch. Garmin Fenix 2. A bit chunky but really excellent for training. |

Yeah there is. Netflix are streaming 4K content, including Breaking Bad. I recommend googling Timescapes by Tom Lowe. Super awesome 4k time lapse movie.
They stream 3D movies too (a gimmick to me but some like them) For $8 it's such a bargain. Hulu Plus would be just as good if it wasn't for the ads Both have plenty of UK content too |

Dot know if you've heard of or used Popcorn Time. It's like a Netflix torrent client with built in VPN. Downloadable for Windows, Mac and Android.
But that's a bit off topic. Never heard of it but I'm going to look into it |
