We're building a new house in Perth and could only afford the bog standard tapware provided by the builder. We're looking to upgrade - especially the kitchen and pantry sinks.

I've tried looking for sites that offer international delivery from the UK but not had any luck. Alternatively, I would get them delivered to my mum and she could send them out.

Has anyone got recommendations for sending parcels to Australia at a reasonable cost - or places that they have ordered such items from in the UK.

I've already done it with wallpaper and only paid 35% of the price quoted here but struggling with the taps.

www.amazon.de (Germany) is the place for these. EUR60 for a tap that sells for AUD250-300 here.

Their shipping costs are reasonable.

Chrome translates from German to English too.

I never thought of Amazon! The prices are brilliant......

But - I've tried both .co.uk and .de and neither will accept my Australian address for delivery. How do you find out what can be sent to Australia?

I use gooping to get items that amazon say they can't deliver to me in oz adds a bit to cost but always cheaper than oz.

We recently stayed in a hotel, the bathroom and kitchen fittings we provided by a German Company called GROHE. They are available in Australia and we liked them so much that they are now top of our list. They are expensive but we are retirees and never had any kids.

Amazon can be difficult with shipping outside of the US or EU. They will ship a vacuum cleaner but not an internet radio. The situation is getting better (.co.uk is now shipping more stuff) but far from ideal. I've heard of people getting 46" LED TVs sent from Germany for under EUR40 shipping.

There are a few business setting up in USA that will give you a address to ship to there then ship items out here,if you box clever you can get free shipping in USA then just pay to get over here still works out a lot cheaper.
