Sounds like another plan drawn up on the back of a fag packet. How do they expect this to work in practice? What crimes would make the deportation list? Would it apply to just the person convicted or their entire family? Wonder how much it would cost, too ... And it completely misses the point that the judicial system works against certain groups, which are disproportinately represented in the prison population compared to the population at large.

So a person that thinks ahead and gets a piece of paper calling him a Citizen gets treated differently to someone that doesnt ?
Or an Aussie who has lived overseas for 30 years comes back and kills someone, gets treated differently to someone that came here at age 2, who commits a serious white collar crime at age 55 and passes the mandatory 2 year deportation for overseas criminals limit (which Aus already has for criminals) and gets deported to a Country he/she knows nothing about ?
I"m actually for the idea, but there are so many scenarios where it doesnt work. I dont think it has any deterrent value.
Just to repeat Australia already has this rule.

"The children of immigrants do not automatically get Swiss citizenship, so the rule would mean sending some people who were born and brought up in Switzerland to countries they know nothing of."
Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, and other places are all starting to blame the failures of their banking/government structures on immigrants. Thankfully the British are behaving with a little more dignity. For now.

I don't care if you are from Somalia or Surrey, FIFO - fit in or f**k off.

Also, note the overtly racist poster "Ivan - violeur et bientot Suisse?" They're not even trying to be subtle about their message: black criminals are worse than white criminals.

And what about an 18 year old who was born and raised in Switzerland, did not get auto-citizenship, commits benefit fraud, and gets forcibly deported to Turkey without appeal? This is more like transportation than deportation. An outrageous retrogressive step back to the 18th century.

Fit in or f**k off. It's time to stop fannying around.

Dodging the point you are cool with forced transportation without appeal of Swiss born people who have never lived outside of Switzerland, what exactly does "fit in" mean? Fit in with what? Who decides whether someone is fitting in or not? Do all people have to think the same thing to fit in?

So who are these Swiss who were born there and don't have citizenship, are their parents temporary workers or something?

Knowing that you could be deported for committing benefit fraud is a great incentive for not doing it.
The west needs to sharpen up and harden up.
