The Tour of Britain cycle race was recently in Castle Douglas (Stage 1 Glasgow to CD). A star studded field included Wiggins, Cavendish, Viviani, Griepel etc. Here's some photos taken a few hours before the riders sprinted up King Street to the finish. All 124 riders turned into King Street in one peloton; Viviani, Cavendish and 2 others crashed on the turn; Griepel narrowly outsprinted the little young Aussie Caleb Ewan to win the first stage. A great day was had by all. (the crash ironically was just next to the Aussie flag on the right of the first photo).

Blackberries ! Just that. Blackberries boiled in a pan with a little sugar and then served in a bowl with bread :wub:

The photos just look so right to me. The colours. The sky & I'm not even Scottish.

Kippford on the Solway Coast not far from Castle Douglas. I tried getting a photo from the same spot as the famous Charles Oppenheimer 'Solway Coast' rail poster but it was looking directly into the sun (and I must clean my lens properly!):

Photos of Orchardton Tower, at Balcary Bay looking to Hestan Island and Lake District, other way to Bengairn and Screel (hills) and then in another position looking across to the Solway Firth and Lake District - hundreds, maybe thousands of recently arrived geese feeding in the field. They're a long way from camera and any attempt to get closer seems them all take to the air!
