Sounds beautiful! Do you have any photos? Of the wildlife obviously - not the $4.95 lunch

I've still to see a platypus.

The moon crescent being the right way up. Has anyone else noticed how it is rotated 90 degrees in Australia. Why is that? I was expecting the toilet water to flush round the wrong way, but never expected a wonky moon

Isn't it also bigger - a fair bit? Moonlit nights can be fantastic.
Being closer to the equator?

Me too. We had a pepper tree next door in Klemzig and there was always a flock of birds in there. My OH put out a seed bell for them as well, so they would come eat at our house when the peppercorns got too much for them.

You old cynic you. There's hardly any litter here and now I think about it, most suburbs ain't too bad.

I only have to go back to London where I lived and I remember the litter.

Graffiti is something else - you do get that but in places you expect it.

It *does* vary place by place of course - I believe you are down in Vic?

Certainly the litter problem in many parts of NSW is dreadful: check out my photos of Manly beach I posted during my awful 6 months' Manly sojourn. And the Hume highway between Sydney and Canberra looks like a rubbish tip, strewn with bottles, cans, plastic bags, McDonalds' wrappers and so on.

I haven't been to Adelaide for 15 years or so, but one of the memories I have is of the tram down to Glenelg, where every square inch of the fences, walls, stops, signs and utility boxes enroute was obliterated by graffiti.

And I see - after posting here today - that NSW is considering banning spray paint sales because of it!

I get Galahs, Ringneck's (28's) and lots of small birds on my fence, and there are always Corellas, Black cockatoos, and Rainbow lorikeets flying around too.

When the house is finished and we move in, they'll hopefully still visit

I've heard there are certain things you can do to attract them i.e plants (They love bottle brush), and of course birld food etc, but obviously not to the point where they take over the place
