Supermarket deals
It's been around for ages - I couldn't pin the date - but you can't move now 'down the shops' without seeing 2 for 3, Reduction A, Reduction B. Constant reductions. Seems to be increasing.
Is the Tesco/Sainsbury model percolating down from on high?
Noticeable that they are competing with Costco on specific brands.
Cheers

Re: Supermarket deals
Admits to being a bit lame and incorporating my daily walk with a trail around the 3 local supermarkets most days of the week, special hunting.
On a side note.... Coles seems to be morphing into a downunder version of Tesco... I feel like buying a few K's worth of their shares, they have to be a good buy if they keep this up. Can someone confirm if they are Westralian farmers or not ? I got slightly bamboozled when I looked up their share value etc.

Tesco vs the FTSE over 5 years. Doesn't look like great buying to me!

There's quite a lot of research to suggest that simple index tracking funds usually match or outperform managed funds over time.
I've been toying with starting one and seeing how it goes...

Re: Supermarket deals
Of course: many of the things that are on a deal I do buy: or would buy: and so yes I have saved: or I get more value.
