Re: Sunburnt? What do you do?
Aloe Vera is the best, you can even use it straight from the leaf.
Don't forget that the heat is damaging, not just the UV etc, don't stay out for hours just because you've got lotion on. |
Re: Sunburnt? What do you do?

Re: Sunburnt? What do you do?
A few friends used to slap backs before going in the sun....lovely big white hand prints left on a red back. Madness...but funny as hell to see!

Hi,
Thanks so much for that information. Sun cream here in Ireland is SO expensive so waiting to buy it when we get there will save us a few euro's ;);) Helena |

hevs said cool showers, but I'm not sure this is a good idea... if you start taking more showers than you normally would, the water will wash away the natural oils in your skin and dry it out.... making it more likely to peel. (that's what I reckon anyway). |

Hi,
We are validating our visa in April on the Sunshine & Gold Coast. What factor should we bring? My husband is VERY fair and so is my son but myself & daughter tan very nicely. When you pur on Factor 30 + sun cream do you get a tan. Sorry if that sounds like a silly question but I love being tanned. Thanks, Helena |

Sorry Ems shouldn't laugh, I did the same thing last summer- thought I was covered and creamed and not till I got home and I gave a good scratch to what I thought was an itch did I find that I had missed a bit at the back of my shoulder Holy s*** it really caned- espcially as I ripped off what was left of the top layer of skin with my nails! anyway my cure all is aloe vera and lots of water to drink It always takes the sting out of the burn and just seems to calm the skin. |

Helena one word of advice- dont TRY to get a tan here as if you have the kind of skin that tans anyway you will get a tan without trying, so just make sure you all cover up as much as poss and wear a wide brimmed hat and sunnies or you will have a seriously wrinkled face. If hubby burns make sure you dont forget to put suncream on his ears! GO EASY ON IT.

I agree I have olive skin and tan very easily. I always cover up with factor 30+ but still end up brown! Worrying really.
