I'll explain a bit more..

Freedom .... to be yourself, and think how you like, without fear of being labeled.

Space.... to be able to walk and go somewhere without being crowded in or deviating from a path.

Tolerance... To be able to Tolerate things like noisy neighbours, knowing that there must be certain things that you do that annoy them.... Like my Neighbour playing drums most weekends... and me starting my car up at 11.30 pm every week night, to go to work, within 10 metres of his bedroom window. Oh and to enjoy the fact that when you go shopping, you will hear a lot of foreign language spoken... especially around here.
I actually think Australians are a tolerant bunch. Brits complain about more, but they are less tolerant. Brits complain Australians are not friendly enough or insular, but then post on here when their neighbours, friends, or families piss them off with some wacky story.

I don't think you can have it both ways! Right now, I like the balance we get here.

EDIT I've said it before, there are a lot of myths and anti-myths. I often thinksome people get it and understand it, others don't, or, can like it or not like it. It's a personal thing.
