Unhappy Suggestions welcome regarding banking

Ive been a busy bee packing, cleaning etc and now I am shagged out.

Now I am trying very hard to find a bank but perhaps I am tired, senile or both - but I can't see the wood for the trees.

I am looking for low bank charges (obviously if possible), just a basic current account with a debit card and a cheque book.

I am on the Westpac site now but I can't narrow it down and would be very grateful for some help - at thicko level because that is how I feel right now

Just a decent bank, and we will be looking at the option of sending money back into our UK account from time to time.

Someone help me before I eat my own head.

Pretty please.

Thanks for that Stevo.

Ive just looked at Westpac, they charge $5 a month or nothing if you pay in $3,000 into your account a month in salary.

I am going to have to sleep on this.

I feel emotionally worn out. My boxes are everywhere, Im now getting nervous about jobs for Mr PP and myself, about rentals - you name it, I am going through the same emotions that other BE members have gone through and I swore that I would be different.

Bloody hell, I need a hug and at the risk of sounding like a girl, I want my Mum

Changing the subject entirely, I thought of you today. There was a woman on the central line tube and she had the chunkiest camel toe ever.

Don't worry too much about the bank thing Sam, you can change banks when you get here if it's not the right one for you. Just open an everyday account for now so you can transfer your cash and worry about it later.

We found the Westpac the easiest online migrant application and still bank with them. However I do feel there may be better options such as ANZ, Suncorp, Nationwide (i think)....Would definately see what other peeps have done.

Cheers

Its just so confusing at the moment.

Wendy this feeling is awful, like my head is going to 'pop' if that makes any sense.

And they tried to make me do overtime at work this week. I dont even have enough time of an evening, let alone getting home at 8pm.

Sorry for offloading, one of those nights.

I am using ANZ... I walked in on my first day here and set up an account - one tip ask for an everyday visa card as the eftpos can't be used on the internet! You will have to transfer money onto the card to use it but it is simple to use. They don't offer it as a standard......

It will be cheaper for you than using a UK credit card which you will have to otherwise, even for things like car hire etc!

I remember the feeling well Sam!. Just take it easy, and allow yourself some de-stress time. It will all come together I promise.

And you can unload anytime you like, you know we're here for you

I have them too. Opened mine from the UK, and applied for the visa debit card when we arrived. It's come in very useful.

I also have a commonweath account
