According to today's Sunday Times in Western Australia; the following are suburbs to avoid:
Ballajura, Lansdale (sic) they can't even spell the name right!, Alexander Heights, Port Kennedy, Rockingham, Padbury, South Lake, Wellard, Merriwa, and Butler *Information supplied by real estate agent (which one?)
Before people living in areas depicted start panicking......... please don't!
I'm pretty sure people living in said suburbs would beg to differ.......... so where do they get this rubbish from?
Apparently the suburbs to invest in are :
Daglish, North Freo, Coogee, Trigg, Wembley Downs, Menora, West Leederville, West Swan, Halls Head, and South Perth.
The decision to purchase where; is already hard enough due to unrealistic over inflated asking prices in many suburbs? This latest headline is nothing short of scaremongering. How did they pick these suburbs....... throw a dart at the map?
I'm glad i didn't listen to such rubbish 5 years ago when we bought our run-down place for $385K.......... I'd get a cool $1.6m for it today........ not that we're selling.

Whoever instigated the article must definitely have a vested interest in the burbs south of the river; according to the article we didn't fare too well in the north.

The Time's doesn't half print a load of sh*te!
Only a few months back they were listing virtually the same burbs as place's to invest in.
Buy where you want to live and ignore the so called experts

Our suburb of Carramar used to be called Neerabup and it got a real caning in the past. It was deemed to be in the middle of nowhere......... often referred to as South Geraldton.
It's amazing what a name change and a quality school can do for what was once allegedly a duff suburb?

There are some good reason why not to invest in some of those areas. Ballajura, Padbury Alexander Heights have a high number of rentals in them. Butler Landsdale etc have a lot of new construction in its suburb or close by and your not really going to get a lot more capital appreciation.
