Thanks very much for your advice and the number:-) I have been ringing them and each time I do they say that they are still working on Sept 29th, its been the same for about 4 weeks!! They cant be that slow surely?? Anyway the other problem I seem to be having is that they first recieved my stuff on 3rd Oct but my method of payment wasnt what they wanted to so I sent them a visa card number which they used to take payment. Anyway I had to send all my paperwork back again with these new card details and now there saying they are going to take my application from the date they recieved them back which they say is the 22nd Oct. They would have got them back long before then anyway but now its seems each time I call they are still only processing 29th Sept's applications and I dont seem to be able to get any answers from anyone its so frustrating!!

Mich

yes thats what they did to me but they sent it to an address that does not exist so ALL my details and cert photocopies are somewhere in the world!!! I said to them that the credit card section was unclear!!!! i just did not see the amount to be debted section!! and they tell you that they will request further information and not send it back to you!!! just hold tight its soooooo hard to do that but as a brit nurse there is no problems just they take there time and there are so many of us applying for registration. but when you search for yourself on the registered nurse bit of the site and you are there is great!! and they send you a registration badge!!!!!! keep positive!!

Sorry to hear that Mich but it will happen sooner than later......not everywhere is as efficient as we would like to think they ought to be;)If I can do it from South Africa (after waiting 3 months for SANC to send verification to OZ)...you can do it too....keep the faith

Hi Guys

I called registration late last night and spoke to them, they said they hadnt recieved my letter of competency, I told them I'd sent it weeks before and that it had been confimed as recieved. Anyway I was passed to Scott Rutterford-Byrne and he was great, he found the letter and verified my mentors Pin number on the NMC website and within five minutes he taken payment for my final registration and activated it.... Im now registered and its great!!!

Scott was clear and helpful and I cant tell how relieved I am, just got to complete my visa application

Hi,
I left the UK 8 weeks ago and left my job as a senior staff nurse in sexual health & HIV (GUM). I have been trying to find a simular job here-but cant. I am currently working back on the wards-which is weird 4 me as I havent done ward work for over 4 years. The drug names are slightly different and some of the equipment is different. I am still getting my head around the public and private patients thing. If anyone hears of a job in Perth or the northern suburbs that is related to sexual health/family planning-please let me know!!!!!

Good luck to everyone who is looking for work in WA:thumbsup:

I worked in HIV back in the UK as well. I loved my job and must admit it is the one thing I miss about the UK. I worked in the RPH in HIV for about 18 months when I came over but it was nothing like the UK. I now work in Drugs and Alcohol and am really enjoying it. Mon-Fri 15 minutes from home so really good. I did a sexual health course at the Family planning in perth earlier this year and it was fantastic. FPWA seems like a good place to work. The clinics are nurse lead which is unusual over here I've found and they do a lot of outreach work in the saunas and with street workers. I really fancied it myself before I came to drugs and alcohol. Might be worth you giving them a call. There is a sexual health clinic at RPH but it is very much run by the doctors, nurses dont have much autonomy.

Thanx Traci. I just want a job that I can develop in coz at the moment I'm doing general and its just not for me. I-like you had my own clinics-so do feel dis-empowered as well.

I'm glad that you have found a job you like-sounds rewarding!!!

Having worked in RPH I know they always want staff in A&E but not to sure about ENP's as nurse practitioners are quite a new concept here. Why not give them a ring and ask about it? Congratulations on getting your ENP:thumbsup:
