We have been here 2 years now and are amazed that you are not allowed to leave any shop without having your receipts stapled together, is this just an obsession by shopkeepers in regional WA or is it Australia wide, I sm not complaining but the staple manufacturers must be quids in!!

It might be because many people need to use the receipts in tax claims, or at Medicare/HBF/etc and there's less chance of losing one of those tiny (but very expensive) bits of paper, especially in a strong sea breeze.
